Staff Accountant

 Steve joined Myers CPA Group in late 2016. Steve retired in 2013 after 33 years with a local multi-national manufacturing company. During those years Steve held many accounting management positions, including Plant Accounting Manager (4 plants in three states over a period of years), his last position there was Financial Manager, Distribution. Some of the duties included Plant budgeting, standard cost development, assisting with safeguarding inventory and tracking profitability.

Steve was also the one called on to fill in when plants were in need of accounting assistance brought about by terminations, illness, etc.

In 2016, Steve sat for and passed, the three-part exam to become an Enrolled Agent. This designation from the IRS gives Steve the same rights and privileges to practice before the IRS as CPAs and attorneys.

This side of accounting is very exciting to Steve. The varied duties of tax preparation for businesses and individuals and financial statement preparation provide for interesting days.

Steve has varied interests away from the office. The most enjoyable one is roaming through antique malls with his wife, Rita, searching for things that they just can’t live without.
